Partial credit option FAQ's
1. How do I do the partial credit
option ?
First you need to get your CAPA ID. It is given on the top of the corrections
exam you were given after the exam. If you loose your paper, you must request
your ID from Prof. Sherrill sherrill@nscl.msu.edu.
With your exam ID login to the CAPA system under the course xpc184s3.
Work all the problems to receive the full extra credit.
2. Do I have to do all the
problems again ?
Each problem you get right on the partial credit will count towards your
partial credit score, regardless of which problems you got right or wrong in
the exam. So, you must do all the problems to get
the full amount of extra credit available!
3. How is the partial credit
determined ?
Your partial credit will be determined by taking 30%
of the difference between your total partial credit score and your
total exam score. These points will be added to your exam score when
the final grade is calculated. Of course, your exam score will never be lowered,
even if your partial credit score is less than the exam score.
4. Why doesn't my partial
credit show up on my exam score ?
The partial credit will be added to your exam score when the final
grade is calculated. Until then, it appears as a separate entry in the class
database. It should show up in the "check your grade" link under but
will not be added to the raw exam score.
5. I had 100% in the exam.
Should I do the partial credit option ?
If you had 100% on the
exam there is no point in doing the partial credit (unless you enjoy doing that
sort of thing).
6. How can I check my partial credit score ?
Same as checking your homework score ("term summary") but you have to choose
the class xpc184s3 when logging onto CAPA. You can also find it on the
"Check Grades" link.
